Happy Mother's Day to all you mamas out there!
Since the May edition of the Crescent City Craft Market falls on Mother's Day, we'll have some great discounts for mothers only, as well as a chance for one lucky mom to win a special prize from the NOCM.
The following weekend, the New Orleans Craft Mafia will one of the many vendors at Bazaar Bizarre/Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA, on May 19 and 20.
Mallory Whitfield, of dismantled designs and Miss Malaprop, won an Etsy "Upcycling Contest" and the prize was a booth at the Maker Faire! You can read details about Mallory's entry here.
For those who don't know, Etsy is a great online marketplace similar to eBay that features nothing but handmade items. All of the NOCM members have shops on Etsy, and some of them sell Etsy-only items! Check out the NOCM Member List to get links to our Etsy stores.
Mallory will be accompanied on her trip by her mom, who will help man the NOCM booth. Thanks, Mrs. Whitfield!

The Crescent City Craft Market is back for a March installment, celebrating Women's History Month as well as the coming of one of our favorite seasons in New Orleans. Springtime fashions, jewelry, accessories, home decor and other handmade goods will abound from several independent woman-owned businesses.
Taking place on Sunday, March 11th, the same day we set our clocks ahead an hour to switch to Daylight Savings Time, this month's Crescent City Craft Market will be from 2-6pm at the Big Top art gallery (1638 Clio Street, off St. Charles near Lee Circle). DJ Lingerie will be spinning festive party tunes, and participating NOCM members include: art by mags!, Claverie Crafts, dismantled designs, greenKangaroo, and Unique Products, along with guest vendors Miss Karina, KOKO Crafts, Christine Wright, Patricia Loureiro, and Inexplicable Confetti.

The New Orleans Craft Mafia's new monthly indie/alternative art and craft bazaar The Crescent City Craft Market is back for a February installment, just in time for last-minute Valentine's Day shoppers and to help everyone get into the Mardi Gras spirit. Gifts for that special romantic someone abound, as do clothing, jewelry, accessories and housewares for Carnival revelry.
Taking place Sunday, February 11th, from 2-6pm at the Big Top art gallery (1638 Clio Street, off St. Charles near Lee Circle), the Crescent City Craft Market is the perfect post-parade stop-off after the Krewes of Carrollton and King Arthur roll down St. Charles Avenue, or a great mid-Barkus break.
For the February market, participating NOCM members include: art by mags!, Claverie Crafts, dismantled designs, greenKangaroo, Jeremy the Alien Designs, and Ms. Placed, along with guest vendors Circular Accessories, Constance, Fresh Baked Vintage, Jazzy Knits, KraftMates, and Pinatas For Breakfast.
